Moon Phase is a boutique consulting firm founded by former VICE Media colleagues Emilie Friedlander, Leslie Horn Peterson, and Drew Millard. We use our combined decades of digital media experience to help agencies, brands, publishers, and creators identify, develop, and present stories that both resonate with audiences and build towards our clients’ overall goals.

Our writing and editing work has appeared everywhere from the New York Times to teeny-tiny one-off zines you’ve never heard of. We’ve authored and edited books, ran email newsletters with tens of thousands of readers, produced/hosted videos and podcasts, created magazines from scratch, played in bands, and thrown some killer parties.

In our client-facing work, we’ve created and ran publications, consulted on relaunches, assisted with documentary pre-production research and talent identification/outreach, and a whole bunch more. We’ve worked with companies like Hennessey, Nina Protocol, Fortune Brand Studio, Woolly Music, and a few we can’t tell you about because they made us sign NDAs.

We work with clients on a sliding scale rate structure, and we love working with individuals as much as we do with major brands or recently funded start-ups with healthy budgets.
